The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. The laser transmits a directly directed laser beam to a predetermined location, formation, and this causes vaporization of the tissue. The laser beam can be directed both in terms of diameter and transmitted energy. The skin growth is either cut out or removed – vaporized over the entire surface. The laser beam also safely helps stop bleeding at the treated site.
The removed formation is sent for histological examination as needed.
