Large breasts often cause poor posture and body overload, spinal problems (cervical, thoracic, and lumbar) including curvature, resulting in frequent headaches, sometimes affecting breathing, causing leg swelling, which affects not only health but also the woman’s psyche.

Since time immemorial, female breasts have been a symbol of female beauty. Often women are not satisfied with them, mainly with size, and undergo breast augmentation. However, the opposite are women who are troubled by heavy or misshapen breasts, as a result of drastic weight loss, repeated births or due to genetic dispositions, the cause can also stem from aging, loss of elasticity, and thus significant breast sagging. Breast reduction is also often sought by young women who, due to excessive breast gland formation, struggle with large breasts that bother them, for example, during sports, or create disproportionate symmetry to the body.
Breast reduction effectively removes and reduces excess skin, breast and fat tissue in the breast area. Part of the procedure is modeling the remaining breast volume. In several cases, breast reduction also has a preventive character, eliminating the occurrence of many health problems.

Breast reduction significantly affects health, improves psyche, perfects the bust, removes overhangs, helps solve unaesthetic deviations by creating acceptable breast areas.
Breast reduction is performed under general anesthesia for approximately 2-3 hours. Incisions are made in predetermined and pre-marked areas, during the procedure excess sagging skin wall, excess fat tissue and part of the mammary gland are removed. The breasts are remodeled, the nipple is repositioned, its size is adjusted as necessary, and then all wounds are surgically sutured with internal absorbable sutures. These, among other things, have the ability to strengthen the scar for proper healing.
Breast reduction is performed so that the incisions cross around the areola, continue from the center of the areola downward and form a small line under the breasts, resembling an anchor, always so that the scars are as inconspicuous as possible. Drains are inserted into the operated area, which over 24-48 hours serve to better drain blood and tissue secretion, are a supportive tool for faster healing, and also eliminate inflammatory processes. The treated area is disinfected and covered with sterile absorbent gauze. After breast reduction surgery, the patient with elastic bandage or compression underwear around the chest is hospitalized as needed for 1-2 days, then the drains are removed and the patient goes home with instructions from the doctor.
Breast reduction is an invasive surgical procedure, only a healthy patient is required for completion. For breast reduction, preoperative examination is also necessary, for older patients mammographic or ultrasound (sono) breast examination is also appropriate. Approximately 2-3 weeks before the procedure, we recommend discontinuing medications that may cause increased bleeding (medications containing acetylsalicylic acid). It is also desirable to limit smoking before and after the procedure.
Breast reduction is performed on women who have breastfed, approximately 6 months after cessation.
After breast reduction surgery, the treated areas may manifest painfully, with swelling, bruising, which subside within a few days. Breast reduction requires 1-2 days of hospitalization, after which drains are removed, the patient goes home with compression underwear, and comes for dressing changes as agreed with the doctor. Post-operative care is important for breast reduction, 2 weeks of rest on sick leave, wearing elastic underwear for about 2 months. Wearing it eliminates swelling, also helps shape the breasts and heal better. All sutures are absorbable, therefore without the need for removal. To eliminate scars, after about 14 days it is appropriate to supplement care with gentle pressure massages, apply quality moisturizing creams. Scars, if they remain, will fade over half a year. Excessive physical exertion is also not recommended for 2 months after the procedure, showering is more suitable for hygiene.
