Thanks to the growing openness of today’s society, most previously taboo topics are now publicly discussed. One such topic is one of the most remarkable phenomena in the world: the female genitalia and the associated psychological well-being of women, which ultimately affects us all.
Countless books, publications, brochures, guides, and even several theatrical plays have been written about the complexity of the female psyche and female body, and therefore sexuality. However, all these works have one common denominator: a woman’s satisfaction with her own body. Aging and gravity are relentless, and the female genitalia is specific in that its deficiencies cannot be masked or camouflaged in intimate moments.
We are talking about the condition of hypertrophy of the labia minora. This aesthetic-functional defect occurs either congenitally or comes with age, especially after natural childbirth.
Excess skin of the labia minora can thus become an obstacle for women in activities such as sports, sexuality can be affected, and last but not least, increased frequency of inflammations and mycoses.
There are several ways to correct hypertrophied labia minora. The most well-known and widespread method is the so-called labioplasty, in which excess skin is removed by excision and the edges are sutured. This procedure is relatively quick, but the resulting scar is located at the top of the labia, so it is exposed to all mechanical stress that can be encountered in this area. Some women then feel unpleasant sensations during intercourse, which unfortunately often leads to limitation of these activities. Another detail that should be mentioned is the fact that classic labioplasty cannot lift and highlight the clitoris.
Another way of female genital correction – modeling – is a technically more complex procedure. The incision is made in the fold between the labia minora and majora, where the resulting scar is then hidden and protected from mechanical stress. From this approach, we are able to unfold both sheets of the labia minora, spread them out, reduce excesses, and subsequently model the labia into the desired shape. During this procedure, the skin incision also runs above the clitoral prepuce, which is thus highlighted and lifted.
Thanks to this procedure, the result of genital modeling is reliable (safely placed scars in the natural fold), aesthetic (the resulting shape of the labia can be influenced to the last detail) and functional (thanks to increased clitoral sensitivity).
